Welcome to Create a Photostory!

Using the photostories as inspiration, create your own photostory!

This tool tips document outlines instructions, shares keyboard shortcuts and provides other additional information you may need to create a Photostory.
The Create a Photostory application can be accessed by using a mouse [🖱], or by using your keyboard [⌨]. Instructions are provided here for both.

Tools - General

Browse the collection of images and choose those you would like to use. Position and edit your images and then add headlines, captions and text to create your own photostory! 🖱 Select the tool you wish to use by clicking it with your mouse.
⌨ Use the TAB key to move to the next item and the SHIFT + TAB keys to go back to the previous item. Press ENTER to select the tool you wish to use.

Photo Tool

The PHOTO tool lets you add a picture to your photostory canvas

Photo Tool - Image Panel

To add an image to your photostory canvas:
🖱 Browse the pages of the image panel by clicking on the arrows at each side. To select a photo, click on it. Then drag and drop it into your photostory.
⌨ Use the ARROW keys to browse the pages of the image panel. Use the TAB key to move image by image. Press ENTER to insert your selected image.

Move Tool

To move an image or text box on your photostory canvas:
🖱 To move an object, click on it. Then drag and drop it into place.
⌨ Use the TAB key to move through the objects to find the one you wish to move. Then press ENTER to select it.

Move Tool - Active

To move an object, once it has been selected:
🖱 Use your mouse to drag and drop it in place.
⌨ Use the ARROW keys to move the object. Use the ENTER key to confirm changes and return to tools.

Resize Tool

To resize your photo or text box:
🖱 Click on the object you wish to resize. Then click on the RESIZE tool.
⌨ Use the TAB key to move through the objects to find the one you wish to resize. Once it has been selected, press ENTER. Then access the RESIZE tool using the TAB key. Select it by pressing the ENTER key.

Resize Tool - Active

To resize your photo or text box:
🖱 Click on the bottom right corner of the box. Then drag out to resize.
⌨ Use the CURSOR keys to resize the object.
Remember: To keep image proportions, hold the SHIFT key while resizing

Crop Tool

To select the object you wish to crop:
🖱 Click on the object. Then click on the CROP tool.
⌨ Use the TAB key to move through the objects to find the one you wish to crop. Once it has been selected, press ENTER. Then access the CROP tool using the TAB key and select it by pressing the ENTER key.

Crop Tool - Active

Once you have selected your object, use the crop tool to resize it.
🖱 Click and drag the edges of the crop frame to the size you wish. To move the crop frame, click on it and drag it with your mouse. Click "Yes" to apply your changes.
⌨ Use the CURSOR keys to resize the crop frame. Use the ALT + CURSOR keys to move the crop frame. Press the ENTER key to apply your changes.
Remember: To cancel any changes, click “No” or press the ESC key.

Text Tool

The TEXT tool allows you to add text to your photostory canvas.
🖱 Click on the TEXT tool. Then click on an area in your photostory canvas to add your text box.
⌨ Access the TEXT tool using the TAB key. Once it has been selected, user your CURSOR keys to move your text box. Then press ENTER to add a text box on your photostory canvas.

Edit Tool

To edit your text box:
🖱 Click on the text box you wish to edit. Then click the EDIT tool to enable the EDIT mode.
⌨ Use the TAB key to move through the objects to find the one you wish to edit. Once it has been selected, press ENTER. Then access the EDIT tool using the TAB key.

Edit Tool - Active

Type inside the text box. To edit your text:
🖱 Type your text inside the text box. Click on the TEXT STYLE box to choose CAPTION, TITLE or HEADING from the drop-down menu. Click one to change the text style.
⌨ Access the EDIT tool using the TAB key. Once it has been selected, press ENTER. Type your text inside the text box. Use the TAB key to navigate to the style options to choose CAPTION, TITLE or HEADING from the drop-down menu. Use the CURSOR keys to select one. Press ENTER to confirm your selection.

Delete Tool

The DELETE tool allows you to delete objects on your photostory canvas.
🖱 Click on the object you wish to delete. Then click on the DELETE tool to remove it from your photostory canvas.
⌨ Use the TAB key to move through the objects to find the one you wish to delete. Once it has been selected, press ENTER. Then access the DELETE tool using the TAB key. Remove the object from your photostory canvas by pressing the ENTER key.

Grid Tool

The GRID tool allows you to view or hide grid lines on your photostory canvas.
🖱 Click on the GRID tool to view or hide gridlines
⌨ Access the GRID tool using the TAB key. Once it has been selected, press ENTER to view or hide gridlines.

Download Tool

The DOWNLOAD tool allows you to download your photostory as a PDF file. You can share it with others or print it.
🖱 Click on the DOWNLOAD tool to download your photostory.
⌨ Access the DOWNLOAD tool using the TAB key. Once it has been selected, press ENTER to download your photostory.

Tips Tool

The TIPS tool allows you to view or hide the tips in the Create a Photostory application.
🖱 Click on the TIPS tool to view or hide the tips.
⌨ Access the TIPS tool using the TAB key. Once it has been selected, press ENTER to view or hide the tips.

Help Tool

By selecting the HELP tool, you can view the Create a Photostory - Help document.
