At the rear of Gabriel Lucas' fashionable Sherbrooke Street shop in downtown Montreal, master craftsmen transfer the designer's sketch into an exquisite setting of precious gems for m'lady's jewel-box. Many of these highly skilled workers have been brought to Canada from such European countries as France and Belgium where the ancient jeweller's art is still taught under a strict apprenticeship system.
