One of the novel attractions at this year's successful festival of the arts at Stratford, Ont., were 2 Eskimo carvers who made the 1500 mile journey from their homes at Cape Dorset on remote Baffin Island to display their art before a large and interested audience. Neither Kiawak (left) nor Eegeevudluk (right) had visited southern Canada before and upon arrival they saw cars, traffic lights, trains and Shakespearean actors for the first time in their lives. Above, actor Douglas (Othello) Campbell admires one of their soapstone carvings.
