Main Text
As warm, hazy, slow-moving midsummer days linger lazily over heat-curled July-August calendar pages, millions of outdoor-loving Canadians sally forth into the blazing sunshine. In a land bountifully blessed with vast open spaces, clean, fresh inland waters, long ocean beaches, crystal-clear rivers and sweet-smelling forests, summertime in Canada is a time when memories are made. For children playing in the sand, fishing from a wharf or swimming in the cool waters of a woodland lake, winter is an eternity away. For young lovers in a shady glade the bright sunshine smiles warmly as it has for a million summers past. For others, in reflective moments, the splash of water, the rustle of green leaves among the tree-tops, the merry sounds and pleasant smells of deep summer recall their own memories of bygone years -- years always remembered as long, carefree days when the sun was ever high and the land was ever warm. Summertime in Canada . . . a time for making memories, enjoying one's place in the sun . . .
