Main Text
In Vancouver - busiest port on the eastern rim of the Pacific - business is booming. The world's number one wheat port, Canada's western gateway to the Orient and far corners of the earth is also a broad funnel for a mighty stream of varied products for export. Potash from Saskatchewan, lumber from the home province, British Columbia, chemicals and coal from Alberta - even goods from faraway Ontario flood through her smoothly-running portals. The largest city of a province that does more business with the world at large than it does with the rest of Canada, Vancouver, British Columbia, is also the natural shipping centre for the trading products of half of Canada. With 17,000,000 tons of cargo passing annually through this vigorous ocean terminal, Vancouver is far away the biggest deep-sea, dry-cargo port on the North and South American Pacific coasts - and growing.
