Main Text
Just a decade after its founding Canada's vivacious and youngest professional ballet company, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, is already arranging its first overseas tour. For many seasons past this vigorous ensemble of talented dancers has won plaudits from audiences across the North American continent for its inspired interpretation of the lively spirit of French Canada. Formed in Montreal by Ludmilla Chiriaeff the company has attracted to its ranks such distinguished names in the world of ballet as Fernand Nault who was for 20 years with the American Ballet Theatre, Anton Dolin who is considered the foremost British dancer of modern times, and Brydon Paige who is the resident choreographer. To Europe, where they go next spring, this fine young company will take their special zest and energy to present a spectacle of outstanding beauty and culture.
