The final sections of the Atlas contain maps showing the distribution of cities and towns, the location of institutions such as hospitals, universities and art galleries. The last two pages of the monumental work trace in graphic outline the path by which Canada has moved from colony to statehood, to her present mature stature as a respected member of the world-wide community of nations.

Canada's recently published volume the Atlas of Canada is the result of 10 years work by scores of experts in a wide variety of fields. The finished product tells in 450 handsome maps Canada's story from the age of discovery and exploration to the present, giving a coherent, colourful account of Canada's geography in all its aspects, the physical and economic as well as the social and political. The Atlas opens with early maps of Canada showing the routes of the first explorers, moves on to precise modern maps showing the country's geology, magnetism, tides and climate, soil and forestry make-up. A series showing the range of various insects, plants, mammals, birds and fish constitutes one of many interesting sections contained in this gigantic source-book of reference material about Canada.
