Caption
The sheep industry in Prince Edward Island while small on quantity, (approximately 33,000 last year) is big on quality with North Country Cheviots becoming increasingly popular in the past decade. Twenty-four ewes and 4 rams were brought over from Scotland in 1950 and today there are 250 purebred Cheviots -- not nearly enough to meet the tremendous demand for them as breeding stock from other parts of Canada and the United States.
