Cabins are carted to the ice village by a variety of means. Modern prefabricated ones are brought in by car, quickly assembled on the spot, where for a couple of dollars the local ice-cutter will slit a trench through the 2-foot ice. Veteran fisherman haul in over 1200 tommycod in a single night.
